ORANGE CITY PHOTOGRAPHERS CLUB, NAGPUR (INDIA)
Orange City Photographers Club (OCPC) is a group of Amateur and Professional Photographers of NAGPUR city, working for a cause “to Promote Photography as an ART”. Club was founded on World Photography Day, 19th August in the year 1995 with an aim of overall development of Individual, Business, and Art through Photography movement.
Since its inception, club has organized various Seminars, Workshops and Lecture series on various topics of Photography. In a changing scenario of photography from conventional /film based to digital photography, club has trained its members for the new media by arranging various digital photography-based seminars and workshops. OCPC always endeavors to update club members by organizing educational program on latest technology introduced in the field of Photography.
To mark World Photography Day and Foundation Day of Club that falls on August 19, Orange City Photographers’ Club organizes a national level photography contest and exhibition for Amateur and Professional photographers each year. This year due to pandemic situation we have planned Online International level Photo Competition to commemorate our Silver Jubilee Year. We have planned at least 25 photography-based programs during the year to celebrate this Silver Jubilee. We are planning to invite photography Gurus from various parts of India to guide our club members and photo lovers of Central India.
Since last 10 years, club conducts three Days summer photography camp for Kids. During these three days club member volunteers to impart basic knowledge of photography and conducts practical sessions and arrange exhibition of their selected photographs, rewarding the best photographs out of them. Through this process club inculcates technical and practical know how regarding handling of camera and lens.
By keeping a track on social obligation or services to the poor and needy, during last year’s lockdown period club distributed more than 1000 Ration–Kits to poor and needy persons from photographer fraternity , their assistants and helpers. Each year on Diwali festival club distribute food, sweets, crackers and other essential items to children from different orphanage institution of the city and around. From time-to-time club organizes Blood Donation camp, health check-up camp for the benefit of club members and society at large.
Family get-together with cultural events on occasion of Kojagiri and Diwali are some of the events most sought after amongst children of club members. On this occasion club felicitates successful students of OCPC family members for academic excellence. Lecture on career guidance for their future life is also delivered by eminent academician. Members are actively engaged in various study tours at different photogenic places and jungles around Nagpur.
